Privacy Policy

WeatherValet (“we,” “us”) provides decision-grade weather verification services. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what choices you have. We wrote it in plain English. If anything is unclear, email hello@weathervalet.ai and a person will answer.

What we collect

• Account information: your email, name, and (if you choose) phone number.
• Locations you save: addresses and coordinates of places you want forecasts for.
• Payment information: processed entirely by Stripe. We don’t store credit card numbers on our servers. We retain a Stripe customer ID linking you to your billing.
• Service usage: which features you use, when you sign in, and which briefs you receive. Used for product improvement and accountability.
• Crew location: if you’re a Valet Crew member, the static “home base” you set so we can route mission notifications to you.
• Communications: messages you send via Pro Threads or replies to mission text messages. We keep these so meteorologists can reference your conversation history.

How we use it

• To deliver the service you signed up for (forecasts, briefs, verifications, mission coordination).
• To notify you when severe weather threatens a saved location.
• To process your payments and provide receipts.
• To improve our forecast accuracy and meteorologist workflows.
• To respond to support requests and resolve account issues.

Who we share it with

We only share data with service providers necessary to operate WeatherValet:

• Stripe: payment processing
• Resend: email delivery
• Twilio: SMS delivery
• Render: web hosting and database
• National Weather Service (NWS): weather data source (public API; no personal data flows to NWS)

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for advertising purposes. If law enforcement requests data with a valid legal order, we will comply as required by law, but we will challenge overly broad requests where we can.

Your rights

• See your data. Email us at hello@weathervalet.ai and we’ll send you a copy of everything we have linked to your account.
• Correct your data. Most fields are editable in your subscriber portal. For others, email us.
• Delete your account. Email us with the subject “Delete my account.” We will deactivate immediately and purge personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., financial records for tax purposes).
• Opt out of marketing. All marketing emails include an unsubscribe link. Transactional emails (account verification, payment receipts) cannot be opted out of while your account is active.

Cookies and tracking

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party tracking cookies. We do not run advertising trackers. We do not embed social media trackers.

Children

WeatherValet is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, email us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we’ll email account holders and post a banner on the homepage at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Minor edits (typo fixes, clarifications) may happen without notice but will be reflected in the “Effective” date above.
