WeatherValet Sidekick: Terms and Text Message Program

Effective August 17, 2026. These terms cover WeatherValet Sidekick passes specifically and sit alongside the general WeatherValet Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Where they conflict, these GameDay terms control for your GameDay pass.

What you are buying

A WeatherValet Sidekick pass is a text message service for days when you will be outside. This series covers Indiana Football home games in Bloomington, Indiana. For each game your pass covers, a certified WeatherValet Meteorologist reviews the forecast for the game window and messages the mobile number you gave us. A typical game brings a Meteorologist outlook the evening before, a morning brief on game day, live updates if weather threatens the window, and an all-clear when it passes. Series passes cover every remaining home game. Single game passes cover only the games you selected at checkout.

Text message program terms

• Program: WeatherValet Sidekick alerts.
• Frequency: varies with the weather. Expect roughly two to six messages per game you are covered for, and more during an active weather day.
• Cost: message and data rates may apply. Those are charged by your mobile carrier, not by us.
• Opt out: reply STOP to any message to stop all Sidekick messages. Reply HELP for help, or email hello@weathervalet.ai.
• Delivery of the service is the messages. Because this product is delivered entirely by text, opting out ends the service. If you opt out before the first game your pass covers, email us and we will refund you in full.
• We do not sell or share your mobile number or your consent with third parties for their own marketing.

Forecasts are judgment, not guarantees

Weather forecasting is inherently uncertain. Our Meteorologists give you their honest professional read of the atmosphere. They will sometimes be wrong about timing, amounts, or whether a storm holds together. Buying a pass does not buy a correct forecast, and no refund is owed because the weather turned out differently than the outlook described.

We are not an emergency service

WeatherValet Sidekick does not replace the National Weather Service, local emergency management, or stadium public address instructions. If an official warning is issued or venue staff give you an instruction, follow it regardless of anything we have sent you. Do not wait on a WeatherValet message to take shelter.

We do not decide what the venue does

Delays, evacuations, entry policies, and resumption of play are decided by the venue, the schools, and the game officials. We report the weather. We do not predict, announce, or influence those decisions, and we are not responsible for a game you missed, left early, or traveled to based on our messages.

Your phone number

• You must give a mobile number you personally own or are authorized to use. Do not sign up someone else's phone without their permission.
• One pass covers one phone number. Tailgate groups need a pass per phone.
• Tell us if your number changes. We cannot deliver to a number we do not have.
• If your carrier has previously blocked WeatherValet messages, you may need to reply START to re-enable delivery before we can reach you.

Payment and refunds

• Passes are a one-time charge, processed by Stripe. There is no subscription and nothing renews.
• Full refund on request any time before the first game your pass covers. Email hello@weathervalet.ai.
• After coverage has begun, we refund the portion of a series pass covering games not yet played, on request, at our discretion.
• If we fail to send anything at all for a game your pass covers, tell us and we will refund that game.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, WeatherValet's total liability for any claim arising out of a Sidekick pass is limited to the amount you paid for that pass. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including travel costs, lost tickets, missed events, property damage, or personal injury. Some states do not allow these limits, and in those states the limit is the smallest amount the law allows.

Acceptable use

Do not resell, republish, or redistribute our Sidekick messages as your own. Do not sign up numbers you do not control. We may cancel a pass and refund it if these terms are abused.

Not affiliated with the university

WeatherValet is an independent weather service. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, licensed by, or endorsed by Indiana University or any school, conference, or venue. Team and school names appear only to describe which games a pass covers.

Changes and governing law

If we materially change these terms, we will post the new version here and email pass holders before it takes effect. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, and disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Marion County, Indiana, unless consumer protection law gives you the right to bring a claim where you live.
